About the Role
As a Healthcare Assistant on Ward 8B, you’ll be right where care matters most. This role supports palliative care, haematology, and general medicine patients with everyday needs, making sure they’re treated with respect and dignity. From mealtime prep to pressure care monitoring, you’ll be hands-on and heart-forward. You’ll assist with continence care, mobility support, specimen collection, and even basic life support if needed. There’s no shortage of ways to make an impact, and you’ll always have support from a close-knit clinical team.

Key Responsibilities
- Help patients with daily hygiene routines and personal care
- Support nutritional needs by prepping meals and feeding where needed
- Monitor and document fluid intake and output
- Assist patients with mobility and use of equipment
- Promote pressure care and help prevent sores
- Collect samples for lab or ward tests
- Assist in post-mortem care and provide emotional support
- Step in with basic life support until nurses arrive
