Requirements

  • Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or equivalent
  • Significant senior experience in public or private sector commercial leadership
  • Strong background in budget management and organisational strategy
  • Skilled in building strategic partnerships and stakeholder confidence
  • Confident communicator who can simplify complexity with clarity
  • Background in business, clinical or commercial fields
  • Experience with Procurement Act 2023, NHS E accreditation, and cabinet office controls

About the Role

This role gives you the reins of one of the most advanced procurement setups in the UK. As Chief Delivery Officer, you’ll head up NHS LPP’s operational engine—leading a suite of category workstreams and shared procurement services. You’ll be guiding the strategic direction across digital health, estates, medical, and workforce, all while working with national bodies, boards, and NHS leadership to ensure commercial strategies deliver real impact.

You’ll also act as NHS LPP’s voice on the NHS Workforce Alliance and the Steering Board. Alongside the Managing Director, your presence will shape key conversations that affect how healthcare procurement supports better outcomes across England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve procurement categories spanning digital, estates, medical, and workforce
  • Oversee shared services including sourcing, supplier management, and contract governance
  • Ensure compliance with Procurement Act 2023 and other regulatory frameworks
  • Represent NHS LPP at national forums and deputise for the Managing Director
  • Deliver strategies that reduce system fragmentation and increase sustainability
  • Work closely with Trusts, national bodies, and local teams to tailor value-driven outcomes
  • Champion workforce development and raise commercial capability across the NHS
