Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration and licence from the Royal College of SLTs
- Some experience working with adults during placements
- Confidence using formal speech and language assessments
- Empathy and strong communication skills with patients and families
- Some familiarity with dysphagia management would be a bonus
Salary Details
The role offers a Band 5 NHS salary of £28,407 to £34,581 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
About the Role
They’re looking for a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist who’s eager to build skills across both acute and community settings. Whether supporting patients in hospital wards or visiting clients in their own homes, you’ll work closely with those facing acquired communication or swallowing difficulties.
You won’t be thrown in at the deep end. Think hands-on experience backed by supervision from experienced therapists, plus exposure to both inpatient and outpatient care. It’s an amazing launchpad for anyone serious about making an impact in the NHS.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of adult patients with support
- Carry out both formal and informal speech and language assessments
- Interpret results to guide individualised care planning
- Deliver person-centred therapy to support communication and swallowing
- Document progress, write reports, and support clinical decision-making
- Communicate findings clearly with families and the multidisciplinary team
- Apply research evidence and work with sensitivity in complex situations
- Keep a sharp eye on psychosocial needs to tailor therapy with impact
