Requirements

• Warm, patient, and motivated attitude
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Genuine interest in mental health recovery
• Experience in adult mental health preferred but not essential
• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (preferred, not required)
• Willingness to learn and work flexible shifts
• Able to commute to or relocate to Bridgwater

Salary Details

£12.70 per hour across a variety of shift patterns. Includes day shifts, nights, weekends, and part-time options based on your availability.

About the Role

This is more than just a job—it’s a meaningful opportunity to support recovery journeys. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you’ll help residents grow in confidence, build daily routines, and stay connected to life beyond the walls of the home. You’ll be working in a tight-knit team where everyone pulls together, but also spending time lone working with individual residents to deliver person-centred care.

The shifts are varied and flexible, from half-day support to full 12-hour days or nights. Your day might involve assisting with daily living skills, helping run activities, writing observations, or simply offering a listening ear. There’s training if you need it and room to grow into more senior roles over time.

• Provide consistent care that supports resident dignity and recovery
• Work independently and as part of a team in flexible shift patterns
• Engage residents in activities that promote wellbeing and independence
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment
• Keep accurate daily records while respecting confidentiality
• Participate in care planning, assessments, and reviews
• Be a positive presence and role model within the home
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices including nutrition and physical activity
