Salary Details

This is a Band 4 NHS Agenda for Change post with an annual salary ranging from 26,530 to 29,114, based on experience and progress during training.

About the Role

You’ll join the East Riding Talking Therapies team as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, combining weekly classroom learning with hands-on clinical work. You’ll study low-intensity psychological interventions through a university-led course and apply those skills to real patients — all while being fully supported by your clinical team.

This is the first step in a deeply rewarding career where you’ll help people manage anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. Using evidence-based tools like CBT, you’ll guide clients through structured recovery plans that truly improve their day-to-day lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide short-term therapy and psychoeducation to adults across Hull and East Riding
  • Carry out clinical assessments over the phone, in person, or via video
  • Track progress through structured sessions and digital platforms
  • Attend weekly university teaching and apply new knowledge in practice
  • Take part in regular group and individual clinical supervision
  • Help signpost clients to other local support when needed
  • Balance study time with clinical duties and complete required academic work
