Requirements

  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable working with Excel, Word, and clinical software systems
  • Confident checking ID, managing appointments, and supporting staff face-to-face

  • Prior administration experience is essential

  • This is a Band 4 role, paying between £31,081 and £33,665 per year, pro rata

About the Role

This is a practical and people-focused admin support role in the heart of the ICT Department. You’ll be the go-to person for new user set-ups, smartcard access, and general first-line support on NHS systems. From checking ID and taking staff photos to printing smartcards and setting up clinics, every task supports clinical care behind the scenes. You’ll also liaise with service desk requests and support queries with care and patience. The real impact? Keeping staff ready, registered, and empowered to provide care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help new NHS staff access critical systems quickly and correctly
  • Process user data and update accounts to keep clinical systems secure
  • Print and issue Smartcards with appropriate access levels
  • Answer queries via email and phone with empathy and efficiency
  • Assist the Registration Authority team with ID checks and RA duties
  • Ensure staff details are accurate and up to date
  • Work with trust-wide teams to maintain user access systems
  • Be part of a reliable, tech-savvy frontline IT support unit
