  • A 2:1 or first-class degree in Psychology
  • A strong grasp of adult mental health and psychological interventions
  • Skilled at handling sensitive or complex conversations with empathy

Here’s the thing—this isn’t just admin or data entry. As an Assistant Psychologist in the Primary Mental Health Treatment Requirement Team, you’re at the heart of something deeply meaningful. You’ll help people who are often overlooked in the justice system, delivering CBT-informed interventions that reduce emotional distress and improve daily functioning.

This is a UK job opportunity where your skills really matter. You’ll assess service users, facilitate emotional coping groups, carry out risk assessments, and directly shape someone’s second chance. Whether you’re helping someone sleep better, manage anxiety, or get their life back on track—your work changes trajectories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 12-week one-to-one psychological interventions that directly address distress and build resilience
  • Facilitate group sessions that teach real-world coping skills
  • Help streamline referrals so service users can access help fast
  • Carry out risk assessments and judge suitability for treatment
  • Support screenings in court and offer on-the-spot psychological evaluations
  • Help improve the service by auditing outcomes and prepping for evaluations
  • Guide professionals across sectors by explaining the team’s approach and why it matters
