- BSc in Physics or equivalent science degree
- Ideally achieved a 2:1 or higher
- Meets NSHCS (National School of Healthcare Science) eligibility standards
- Willingness to complete a 3-year full-time Scientific Training Programme

Salary Details
This role offers between £37,338 and £44,962 per year, based on experience and training phase. The position is fully funded and includes all the benefits of NHS employment.

As a Trainee Healthcare Scientist in Medical Physics, you won’t be sitting on the sidelines. You’ll take part in clinical investigations, interpret test results, and help lead improvements in services and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic investigations, including use of ionising and non-ionising radiation
- Interpret and report on clinical test results
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to advise on safe practices and facility planning
- Maintain and calibrate equipment to high safety standards
- Monitor and manage risks, participating in assessments and investigations
- Support audits and contribute to service quality improvements
- Assist in training junior staff and sharing knowledge across teams
- Participate in research and development that improves patient care and safety
