Requirements

  • Postgraduate diploma in a relevant subject or equivalent hands-on experience
  • ITIL Foundation certification with solid grasp of operational IT service delivery
  • Strong knowledge of M365, Azure, remote access, and hypervisor technologies
  • Experience managing large IT teams, with a knack for motivating and leading
  • Track record in setting up and implementing internal processes
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when simplifying technical language
  • Prior experience in NHS or healthcare settings is strongly preferred

Salary Details

About the Role

This isn’t just another management job. It’s your chance to lead technical operations for one of the UK’s most recognised healthcare institutions. As IT Operations Manager, you’ll be the central figure driving performance, continuity, and innovation across the Trust’s server and desktop infrastructure.

You’ll take charge of the Technical Services Team, balancing day-to-day problem-solving with strategic vision. From managing urgent escalations across servers and networks to ensuring operational resilience, you’ll play a vital role in keeping services reliable, secure, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Technical Services Team, fostering high performance
  • Oversee the Trust’s server, network, and telephony systems, ensuring stability and security
  • Manage technical escalations involving complex infrastructure issues
  • Support problem management by collaborating across departments
  • Shape operational strategies and contribute to continuous service improvements
  • Participate in on-call duties, including weekends and unsociable hours when needed
