Requirements
- Level 3 technical or teaching qualification, or equivalent experience in therapy support
- Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills
- Familiar with using electronic patient records and basic IT tools
- Evidence of CPD in therapy or rehab-based support work
- Prior NHS or social care experience supporting therapy teams
- Comfortable supporting patients with complex needs
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Awareness of disability and a person-centred approach to care
Salary Details
This role offers a full-time annual salary ranging from 27,485 to 30,162, based on experience and qualifications.
About the Role
Working within the specialist inpatient occupational therapy team, you’ll make a real difference to individuals navigating complex medical journeys. Whether they’re dealing with reduced mobility, cognitive challenges, or recovering from acute illness, your support helps get them back to daily life.
You’ll work hands-on, under the guidance of a registered occupational therapist, delivering key interventions—everything from personal care support to mobility tasks. Some days it’ll be helping someone wash or dress. Other times, it’s guiding someone to safely use their home space again.
Alongside this, you’ll support the therapy team by keeping records tidy, managing basic admin, and pitching in on the day-to-day running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver practical therapy interventions that improve patient function and confidence
- Support patients with daily activities like dressing, toileting, and domestic tasks
- Work on the ward and in therapy spaces, depending on clinical needs
- Keep accurate records using digital systems
- Handle basic housekeeping and administrative duties to support team flow
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families
