Requirements

  • Full GMC registration and licence to practice at the time of application
  • Completed foundation and core training, or equivalent international experience
  • Able to confidently manage elderly patients in acute medical settings
  • Skilled in teamwork and communication across departments
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, in line with Good Medical Practice
  • Comfortable handling rota-based responsibilities including night shifts and ward rounds
  • Eager to contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Salary Details

  • This post offers a fixed annual salary of £61,825, adjusted pro-rata based on actual working weeks

About the Role

This isn’t just another clinical post. It’s a chance to deepen your experience in frailty and elderly care while working on a rolling rota that fits around your personal and professional needs. You’ll be supporting acute admissions and ward management on the Acute Frailty Assessment Unit and within the core DME bed base. If you’re keen to shape your PDP while working in a place where your skills matter, this could be your perfect next move.

You’ll be encouraged to engage with clinics and service development, depending on your interests. That means learning, contributing, and growing every day, backed by one of the most respected names in UK healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver acute care to frail patients on the assessment unit and inpatient wards
  • Provide reliable medical cover across night shifts and ward rounds
  • Support timely admissions, discharges, and MDT meetings
  • Adapt to a rolling rota, contributing flexibly to the service
  • Take part in service improvement and optional clinic activities to enrich your PDP
