Requirements

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent with respiratory and sleep specialism
  • Master’s degree, STP, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Registered with AHCS or HCPC (or working toward registration)
  • ARTP Part 1 and 2 or ARTP Practitioner qualification
  • Strong background in respiratory testing and accurate data interpretation
  • Experience with research, clinical audit, and staff mentorship
  • Keen understanding of respiratory protocols and quality assurance procedures
  • Familiarity with sleep physiology is a plus

This role offers a Band 7 salary from £47,810 to £54,710 per year, aligned with NHS pay and responsibility level

About the Role

You’ll take on a senior clinical position where your expertise in respiratory and sleep testing directly influences patient outcomes. Working across Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, and the Community Diagnostic Centre, your role will blend advanced diagnostics, quality assurance, and supervision.

You won’t just interpret data, you’ll shape care. From full lung function testing to complex sleep studies, your ability to produce accurate results will help clinicians make confident decisions. Plus, you’ll play a key part in guiding junior staff and deputising for the lead physiologist, making this a genuine impactful work opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory and sleep testing to support diagnosis and management
  • Maintain and calibrate diagnostic equipment to ensure test integrity
  • Produce high-quality technical reports and interpret clinical data
  • Guide and mentor junior staff to build team capability
  • Lead or support audit and research projects to improve service outcomes
  • Deputise for senior physiologists, ensuring continuity of care and leadership
