Requirements
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Commitment to complete the All Wales Induction Framework Level 2 in health and social care or equivalent
- Experience dealing with the public in a professional manner
- Ability to remain calm and caring in challenging circumstances
- Previous clinical experience is desirable but not essential
- Welsh language skills are desirable, though not required
Salary Details
This role is offered at £24,833 per year, pro rata for part-time hours, under the Agenda for Change Band 2 pay scheme.
About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant in the Dermatology team, the successful candidate will work alongside nurses and other staff to provide day-to-day patient care. From supporting minor outpatient procedures to assisting with infection prevention, every task makes a direct impact on patient comfort and safety.
The role involves working in partnership with patients, families, and other health professionals, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys people-focused work. Each shift will include varied duties, guided by registered nurses, that help keep services running smoothly and patients supported.
This is more than a clinical support role. It’s about being a trusted presence for patients at a vulnerable time and contributing to high standards of care that the community depends on.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist registered nurses in delivering care that follows patient care plans
- Support minor outpatient procedures, ensuring infection control and safety are upheld
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care that supports patient wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, and wider health teams
- Maintain professionalism and empathy in every patient interaction
