Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy or occupational therapy
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
- At least 12 months’ UK experience as a physiotherapist or occupational therapist
- Evidence of Band 5 or Band 6 clinical experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment
- Flexible and reliable, with good time management
- Motivation to develop new skills and support others
- Empathy, diplomacy, and commitment to patient-centred care
Salary Details
Band 6 Agenda for Change pay scale: £35,392 to £42,618 a year pro rata.
About the Role
This is more than a therapy role, it’s a chance to shape lives through specialist care. As a Static Upper Limb Therapist, you’ll deliver hand therapy to patients with acute and routine needs. You’ll use evidence-based approaches to assess, diagnose, and create treatment plans that help people regain independence. Training will be provided in splinting and other specialist areas, so you’ll always feel supported as you expand your clinical skills.
You’ll also contribute to the development of the service, helping to implement new practices and ensure patient-centred care remains at the heart of everything. With the backing of a large teaching trust, you’ll gain exposure to varied cases and opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality therapy for patients with diverse upper limb presentations, improving recovery outcomes
- Carry out specialist assessments and deliver tailored treatment programmes that make a real difference
- Independently manage and prioritise a caseload, ensuring timely care and strong patient flow
- Support junior staff and students through supervision, fostering a learning environment
- Contribute to planning and evaluation of therapy services, leading projects that shape future care
- Uphold patient dignity, respect, and safety while promoting compassionate care
