Requirements
- Degree or equivalent technical experience, with evidence of continuous professional development
- Strong proficiency in T-SQL for complex queries and optimisation
- Hands-on experience with data modelling, indexing, and partitioning
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and ETL/ELT processes
- Experience with reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
- Strong understanding of data governance, confidentiality, and security principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while keeping quality high
Salary Details
This role offers a banded NHS salary between £47,810 and £54,710 per year, depending on experience and skills.
About the Role
As a Dataset Developer, you’ll be central to shaping the Trust’s data infrastructure. Your work will ensure that reporting systems and analytics tools are accurate, reliable, and tailored to both clinical and operational needs. From maintaining and developing the data warehouse to supporting statutory reporting, your input will directly influence patient care and organisational decision-making.
You’ll have the opportunity to introduce innovative practices, apply new technologies, and drive improvements across data warehousing and reporting processes. Every enhancement you deliver helps frontline teams make better-informed choices, strengthening the Trust’s digital transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the Trust’s data warehouse to support scalable, reliable reporting
- Create reporting frameworks that give clear insights to both clinical and operational teams
- Ensure systems comply with governance standards to safeguard quality and confidentiality
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate evolving organisational needs into data solutions
- Apply new technologies and best practices to improve efficiency and outcomes
- Support statutory and regulatory reporting that underpins trust-wide accountability
- Promote continuous learning and apply fresh insights to strengthen data processes
