Requirements
- GCSE in English and at least one science subject
- Certificates showing completion of external short clinical-technical courses in Electrocardiography
- Technical competence in ECG recording and interpretation
- Experience analysing 24-hour ECGs, blood pressure monitors, and assisting with exercise treadmill testing
- Strong administrative and IT skills for patient database systems
- Ability to supervise and train junior Cardiographers and student healthcare scientists
Desirable
A-level in Science, completion of the SCST national exam in Electrocardiography, and NHS experience in a relevant area.

This role offers between £33,094 and £36,195 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
About the Role
The Associate Practitioner will carry out a full range of routine non-invasive clinical cardiac investigations, demonstrating technical proficiency and accuracy in reporting. The role includes analysing and reporting ECGs, assisting in exercise testing, and supporting complex investigations under the guidance of Cardiac Physiologists. The position is primarily based at Charing Cross Hospital, with rotation across other hospital sites within the Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine non-invasive cardiac investigations, including ECGs and ambulatory monitoring
- Analyse and report on investigation results with accuracy
- Support Cardiac Physiologists in complex diagnostic procedures
- Contribute to departmental meetings, CPD programmes, and training activities
- Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students
- Engage in quality assurance, audits, and departmental research activities
