About the Role
This is more than just a ward job. As a Health Care Support Worker in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), you’ll be at the centre of urgent admissions from the Emergency Department. With 20 AMU beds, 8 triage trolleys, and a 28-bedded ward, no two days are the same. You’ll help with patient hygiene, serve meals, monitor vital signs, and support dressings. Each task, however routine, plays a part in keeping patients safe and supported in vulnerable moments.
You’ll work hand in hand with nurses, doctors, and ward clerks, learning the rhythm of a high-paced environment. It’s a role that tests resilience but rewards with the chance to see the immediate impact of your care.
