Requirements
- Level 2 or 3 Childcare or Early Years qualification
- Experience in a day care or nursery setting
- Knowledge of EYFS and curriculum planning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A caring, enthusiastic, and committed approach to working with children
- Organisational and teamwork skills to contribute effectively
Salary Details
This Band 2 role offers £24,465 per year, with pay progression available. Part-time staff will receive pay pro rata.
About the Role
This role isn’t just about childcare, it’s about creating foundations for life. The assistant will help shape a safe, stimulating, and fun environment where children aged 0–5 can thrive. From engaging role play to outdoor learning, every activity is designed to support development and self-esteem. By working closely with parents and colleagues, the assistant will make sure each child’s needs are met with compassion and respect. It’s a hands-on role with real purpose, giving the chance to build strong relationships and support children during some of their most formative years.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a nurturing, stimulating space that sparks curiosity and confidence
- Plan and deliver activities in line with EYFS standards to support learning
- Work in partnership with parents to build trust and meet individual needs
- Promote inclusivity, dignity, and respect in every interaction
- Contribute to team planning, organisation, and displays that celebrate children’s work
- Support safeguarding and wellbeing, ensuring children are always safe and cared for
