Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration and membership of the relevant professional body
- Experience with children and families in health or educational settings
- Skilled in assessment and intervention for children with SLCN or complex needs
- Confident communicator with a collaborative approach to working in multi-agency teams

Salary Details
The post is offered on the Agenda for Change Band 6 pay scale, ranging from £37,338 to £44,962 per annum, depending on experience.
About the Role
This role offers a chance to join one of Birmingham’s Locality SLT teams, where no two days are the same. You’ll manage your own caseload of children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), delivering both face-to-face and virtual therapy across schools, early years settings, and family homes.
Your input will help children overcome communication barriers and achieve meaningful progress in their daily lives. Working within an integrated team, you’ll collaborate with education and early years partners to embed a graduated approach to SEND support and make a tangible difference in your community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose communication needs to create effective therapy plans that drive real outcomes
- Deliver therapy sessions across schools and early years settings, both in-person and virtually
- Provide supervision to NQPs and junior therapists, fostering growth and confidence
- Collaborate with education partners to strengthen SEND support within local networks
- Contribute to service development by sharing best practice and data-driven insights
