Salary Details
This role is offered on the Agenda for Change pay scheme, Band 2, with a starting salary of £24,465 per annum (pro rata) depending on experience.
About the Role
As a Healthcare Support Worker in the Emergency Department, you’ll be part of a team that handles life’s most critical moments with empathy and skill. You’ll support nurses and doctors in providing hands-on care, from helping patients with personal hygiene to assisting with vital signs and movement. Each shift brings variety — you might apply plaster casts, take physiological measurements, or support dementia care initiatives.
Your work keeps the department running smoothly and ensures every patient feels seen, safe, and cared for. It’s fast-paced and sometimes demanding, but you’ll never face it alone. UHS provides full training, mentorship, and opportunities to move into senior roles or nursing pathways as your confidence and skills grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and emotional support to patients of all ages.
- Assist patients with meals, mobility, and hygiene in a dignified way.
