Requirements

  • Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Applied Systemic Theory or equivalent.
  • Professional registration in Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health practice and clinical interventions.
  • Understanding of assessment, screening, and risk management models.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to balance academic and clinical work.
  • Desirable: Experience delivering interventions related to your professional background.

The annual salary is £38,682 to £46,580, depending on experience and qualification.

About the Role

This Trainee Psychological Therapist role is part of a two-year journey where you’ll train and work as a CBT practitioner. In your first year, you’ll gain core CBT training through UCL while providing therapy for adults with diverse mental health needs. In your second year, you’ll specialise in CBT for Eating Disorders, gaining deep expertise within a specialist service.

You’ll work four days per week in clinical practice and one day in training. Along the way, you’ll contribute to triage, assessments, reflective sessions, and team discussions that shape better treatment outcomes. This role is ideal for clinicians who want to grow their expertise while making a direct, visible impact on people’s recovery journeys.

  • Deliver CBT-based psychological interventions under clinical supervision.
