About the Role
As Operational Support Manager, you’ll be part of the General Surgery, Urology, and Breast team, ensuring smooth day-to-day service delivery. You’ll assist senior managers in achieving performance, quality, and financial targets while supporting admin teams and improving patient pathways.
You’ll handle scheduling, data analysis, and performance monitoring—keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes. Whether coordinating theatre bookings or supporting consultants and nurses, you’ll be the person who keeps operations aligned with strategic goals.
This role also involves deputising for the Service Operations Manager when required, taking responsibility for line management, appraisals, and training within your teams. It’s a hands-on position where you’ll see the direct impact of your organisation and leadership on patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee administrative and operational support for surgical services to maintain efficiency
- Manage daily scheduling for theatres and clinics to optimise capacity and resource use
- Support senior management in meeting Trust-wide targets and key performance indicators
- Lead and develop admin teams, ensuring consistent standards and professional growth
- Coordinate communication between consultants, nurses, and operations teams
- Analyse data to identify trends and propose service improvements
- Uphold patient and staff confidentiality across all functions

A Standard or Enhanced DBS check is required for this position. Costs (£21.50 or £49.50) are recoverable from initial pay periods. Apprentices are exempt from DBS payment.
