Salary Details

This is a Band 5 role offering £31,049 to £37,796 per annum, depending on experience, with full NHS pension and benefits.

About the Role

As a Staff Nurse within the Maurice Jackson Renal Unit, you’ll play a key role in providing specialised nursing care to patients with End Stage Renal Failure receiving haemodialysis treatment. You’ll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, working autonomously once renal competencies are achieved.

You’ll also collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care, support patient education, and maintain a safe, compassionate environment. Within 12 months, you’ll be fully trained to deliver haemodialysis independently, contributing directly to the wellbeing and stability of patients who rely on regular treatment for their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and effective haemodialysis using evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes
  • Assess and plan individual care needs for both acute and chronic renal patients
  • Work autonomously once competency training is complete, ensuring each treatment session meets clinical standards
  • Liaise with doctors and allied professionals to coordinate patient care effectively
  • Maintain accurate patient records and uphold NMC Code standards
  • Participate in the on-call rota and support satellite dialysis units as needed
  • Promote a positive patient experience through empathy, clear communication, and professional integrity
