Requirements

  • Current NMC registration with valid PIN
  • Experience working in an acute care environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness to complete renal-based competencies within 12 months
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and evidence-based practice

Desirable: Haemodialysis experience and competency certificates or documents.

Salary Details

This Band 5 position offers a salary range of £31,049 – £37,796 per year, based on experience and in line with NHS Agenda for Change pay scales.

About the Role

As a Staff Nurse in the Maurice Jackson Renal Unit, you’ll provide high-quality haemodialysis care to patients with end-stage renal failure. You’ll assess, plan, and deliver care alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team. After completing renal training, you’ll independently manage dialysis treatment and help maintain a positive, safe, and compassionate environment for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based haemodialysis treatment to inpatients and outpatients
  • Build strong relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues to ensure continuity of care
  • Rotate between hospital and satellite units to gain a breadth of experience
  • Participate in on-call rotas and contribute to service coverage
  • Maintain accurate and legible clinical records to meet NMC standards
  • Support patient education and wellbeing as a visible health advocate
