- GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
- Experience in the NHS within primary or secondary care

About the Role
This role supports the Haemato Oncology Diagnostic Service where you help move people through the cancer pathway without delays. You keep an eye on lab results referrals and investigations so nothing sits idle. You track samples from arrival to departure and speak up early when something might slow a diagnosis. Some days you are the first contact for urgent results. Other days you are mapping referral patterns to help the team improve turnaround times. You will speak with lab staff clinicians administrative teams and partner centres which means you become the steady link that holds the pathway together. Key Responsibilities
- Act as first contact for escalated results helping clinicians act quickly when cancer is suspected
- Review referral processes so reports reach users within target times and patients wait less
- Monitor outstanding worklists to ensure every test keeps moving toward a confirmed diagnosis
- Track samples end to end so delays are spotted early and resolved before they cause breaches
- Handle enquiries to keep service users informed and reassured
- Build strong working relationships across the region to keep pathways joined up
- Prepare reports and slides for MDTs helping teams make informed shared decisions
- Support retention regulations so diagnostic material stays accessible and compliant
- Assist with specimen reception when the service needs an extra hand
