Job Description
The Director of Operations oversees all finance and operations functions necessary to run a high-performing school. This includes budgeting, purchasing, facilities management, food services, transportation, technology, compliance, human resources, and academic operations support. They play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence, enabling instructional leaders and staff to focus on driving strong student achievement outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership in School Operations: Ensure seamless daily operations, proactively resolving issues and developing systems as needed. Implement the campus-wide operations vision in alignment with academic and cultural goals.
- Budgeting and Finance: Collaborate with the Principal to develop and manage the school’s annual budget. Oversee the purchasing process and manage financial compliance.
- Facilities Management: Supervise facilities maintenance, aesthetics, safety, and shared space agreements. Ensure a welcoming environment for students and staff.
- Student and Family Services: Oversee food service administration, transportation, communications, and external relations. Manage logistics for off-site field lessons and on-site events.
- Technology and Equipment: Ensure access to necessary technology and manage supply inventory. Lead the campus opening/start-up process each year.
- Student Recruitment and Academic Support: Maintain accurate student data, manage assessments, and support recruitment efforts. Ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Risk Management and HR Administration: Prepare for emergencies, manage HR processes, and ensure legal compliance. Support staff development and leave administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of work experience, preferably in education or operations management
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing teams and budgets
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Duration and Location
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Atlanta, GA.
Compensation
Salary ranges from $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, parental leave, and retirement plans.
