Our client’s Digital Infrastructure department is essential to providing the infrastructure and enterprise services that support their diverse programme activities. Their project portfolio covers various disciplines, including IT Security, Networks, Applications, Telephony, Cloud, Infrastructure, Data Management, and High-Performance Computing.

Your New Role

As a Cybersecurity Subject-Matter Expert (SME), you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of the cybersecurity programme. You will collaborate with Project Managers and work on priorities established by the Cybersecurity Programme. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing Cyber Security Operations Centres (C-SOC) across two laboratory sites.
  • Assisting the cyber team in defining, practicing, and verifying the effectiveness of the cyber critical incident response.
  • Supporting the infrastructure team with ongoing cyber assurance activities, including patching, cyber readiness, and routine incident response.
  • Applying your SME knowledge and experience to ensure secure project outcomes.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A strong background in information security/information management.
  • Incident management experience with the ability to tailor responses to fast-paced situations.
  • Proven people and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of information security standards, legislation, and practices, including GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Experience with a range of IT systems (both on-premises and cloud-based).
  • Technical knowledge in areas such as antivirus, networking, vulnerability management, and encryption (experience with Microsoft and Linux environments is advantageous).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with flexibility to adapt and implement evolving systems and services.
  • The ability to obtain UK National Security Vetting Security Clearance (SC).

What You’ll Get in Return
