The Columbia men’s tennis team has been selected to host the prestigious ITA Kickoff Weekend in January 2025. This exciting event will see top teams, including Florida, Middle Tennessee State, and Miami (FL), competing at the Philip and Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center.

Earning the No. 8 seed, Columbia was granted hosting privileges following their historic advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals in May. This achievement marked the first time in program history that the Lions reached the quarterfinals, and they finished the season with an impressive No. 8 national ranking, the highest ever for the team.

The ITA Kickoff Weekend, scheduled for January 24-27, 2025, will feature 14 host sites this year, a change from the previous 16, due to new format adjustments for the ITA Division I National Team Indoor Championships. Each host site will welcome four teams, with a total of 56 teams vying for one of the 14 spots at the National Team Indoor Championships.

Baylor and SMU are set to co-host the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Championships. Both schools will receive automatic entry into the championships, while the 14 winners from the Kickoff Weekend will join them to compete in Waco or Dallas.

Fans can keep up with all the latest news and updates on Columbia Men’s Tennis by following the team on social media platforms. Stay connected with the Lions on X (@CULionsMTEN), Instagram (@culionsmten), and Facebook (@ColumbiaAthletics).
