Job Description Title: Lead Credit Strategy Analyst

Location: London, United Kingdom (Option for Remote)

Monzo is seeking an experienced Lead Credit Strategy Analyst to join their Borrowing Data Team. This role involves developing unsecured retail credit risk strategies and building top-tier credit capabilities to drive the success of Monzo’s borrowing products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to enhance credit underwriting, boost growth, and manage portfolio risk.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, product, risk, and control teams to design and implement strategies.
  • Develop credit control and portfolio management frameworks.
  • Create and monitor customer-level lending strategies and credit models.
  • Write and implement credit proposals as Monzo’s underwriting policy.
  • Analyze data to support new lending strategies and assess portfolio performance.
  • Maintain databases and dashboards for rapid, data-driven decision-making.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in unsecured retail lending (e.g., personal loans, credit cards, overdrafts, buy now pay later, motor finance).
  • Strong understanding of lending economics and experience with underwriting strategies and credit models.
  • Proficiency in SQL; experience with Python and Looker is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and technical coding abilities.
  • Effective communicator with project management and team collaboration experience.
  • Familiarity with UK lending regulations.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic about making a positive impact.

Compensation:

  • Salary: £65,000 – £85,000 annually.
  • Stock options and comprehensive benefits package.
