Position: Support Worker
Salary: £13.50 – £14.00 (weekly pay)
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Birmingham, UK

Acuity Care Group has a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in Birmingham. This role involves working closely with a young person with a mild learning disability, diagnosed with narcolepsy and cataplexy. The position entails providing assistance with medical, personal care, and daily tasks. The Support Worker will collaborate both independently and as part of a team, working shifts to ensure round-the-clock care.

Main Duties

  • Support with all facets of daily living.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Ensure the individual’s safety and well-being at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with the individual and other team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
  • Adhere to care plans and guidelines provided.
  • Aid with light household chores, which may include cooking and cleaning.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals requiring care.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Empathy, patience, and compassion when interacting with individuals in need of support.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet varying care needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undergo additional training and development as required.
