Job Description
Hackney Council is seeking qualified Social Workers passionate about achieving the best outcomes for people. The Adult Social Care Social Worker role provides an opportunity for newly qualified social workers to undertake their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) within a supportive environment. The role involves high-quality support, assessment, and intervention with residents, carers, and families. Hackney Council offers extensive training and development opportunities to help social workers develop excellent practices and advance their careers.
Responsibilities include
- Working within the Access and Duty Team to screen referrals, undertake initial assessments, and arrange immediate services where needed.
- Responding to crisis situations for residents already known to adult social care.
- Completing assessments through a combination of telephone, online meetings, and face-to-face assessments.
- Addressing concerns around mental capacity, well-being, hoarding, or self-neglect.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a Social Work England recognized social work qualification or equivalent.
- Must be Social Work England registered.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and contribution to the service and council development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage own workload and have a flexible approach to working.
Compensation
Salary: GBP £41,967 to £46,053 (Grade PO1 – PO3)
