Job Description
Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and professional Band 3 Therapy Services Receptionist to join their team. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 37.5 hours of work per week. The service operates from Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 18:00, with varying shift patterns on a weekly basis.
The Band 3 Therapy Services Receptionist plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of outpatient clinics. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing a courteous and efficient reception service to patients and clinicians, ensuring a welcoming environment in line with office procedures.
- Managing the booking of new and follow-up clinics, ensuring these appointments are scheduled efficiently.
- Collaborating closely with supervisors, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners (APPs), physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and dietitians to address any clinic-related issues promptly.
- Ensuring excellent patient care by immediately raising any booking or service issues with the supervisor, Service Manager, or relevant clinicians.
- Maintaining accurate records and handling patient confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Person Specification
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Essential: Good general education, including GCSE English grade “C” or above, or equivalent.
- Desirable: Further qualifications or training in administration or customer service.
Experience
- Essential: Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.
- Desirable: Significant experience in a role combining administration and public interaction, preferably within the NHS or a similar environment.
Skills and Aptitudes
- Essential: Excellent customer care skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, ability to prioritize workload, knowledge of patient confidentiality and the Data Protection Act.
- Desirable: Strong communication skills, effective interpersonal abilities, good IT proficiency, experience in record-keeping and problem-solving, and experience in team working.
