Job Description

The Crisis Assessment Unit / Police Pathway Service at LYPFT is seeking an enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner. This role involves supporting patients from initial referral through community assessment and the s136 detention process. The successful candidate will work in the Crisis Assessment Unit and the 136 Suite, offering high-quality service under pressure and contributing to exceptional care. The position requires availability for a 24/7 rota, including long days, twilights, and nights.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant core professional nursing qualification (RMN/RNLD)
  • Experience with adults experiencing acute mental illness
  • Ability to formulate care and safety plans
  • Strong assessment and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in de-escalation techniques
  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to responsive and inclusive service delivery
  • Calm and confident demeanor, especially under pressure
  • Understanding of mental health services and relevant legislation

Compensation

Salary: £28,407 – £34,581 per annum
