About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for keen and reliable individuals to join their teams within the Theatre Complex, in various specialties. If you are looking for a new challenge and have an interest in 1.1 Patient Care within the Operating Theatre or within PACU, then this is the job for you. The Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology Department provides state-of-the-art minimally invasive procedures using advanced radiological image techniques, under the guidance of X-rays, ultrasound, and CT.
Key Responsibilities
- Moving patients between wards, Theatres, and Recovery departments
- Assisting in the care of the surgical patient during the peri-operative period by supporting the multidisciplinary team
- Supporting the Theatre personnel in providing a safe, high-quality environment for the carrying out of surgical procedures
- Assisting The Clinical Practitioners with procedures
- Providing basic patient care
- Assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of stock levels
- Providing a safe environment ensuring the highest quality of patient care is provided
- Prepare and set up theatre prior to theatre list
- General circulating duties as instructed/requested from qualified members of the theatre team
- Assist the safe transit of the patient to and from the ward and between areas within day theatres, before and after surgery, and to ensure the safety of any equipment that is attached to the patient
- Provide knowledgeable and safe assistance with the transfer of the anaesthetised patient from the patient’s trolley to the operating table using the hospital policy for manual handling of patients
- Assist with the positioning of the patient for a surgical procedure
- Undertake pressure area care using pressure relieving practices and devices as advised by registered staff
- Ensure all documentation is recorded accurately, legibly signed and dated in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and countersigned by registered staff as appropriate
