The hospital’s state-of-the-art theatre department is integral to its commitment to excellence, and it is now seeking a dedicated Theatre Coordinator to join its dynamic team.
Job Description
The Theatre Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the hospital’s main theatres department. This position requires both clinical and managerial expertise, combining direct clinical duties with strategic management responsibilities. Reporting to the Theatre Manager and working closely with another Theatre Coordinator, the role involves managing staffing levels, coordinating clinical activities, and leading theatre staff to ensure that patient care and operational excellence are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model for team members, managing staffing levels and skills to meet patient needs.
- Act as Theatre Manager in their absence and assist in achieving performance targets.
- Ensure maximum efficiency in clinical activities, maintaining high standards of care and communication with all relevant departments.
- Lead the theatre team, support staff development, and manage performance.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure a clean and well-maintained theatre environment.
- Uphold patient privacy and dignity, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and contribute to improving clinical standards through audits and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant clinical qualification and professional registration (e.g., NMC/HCPC).
- Proven experience in theatre coordination or a similar role, with a strong understanding of clinical and operational management in a perioperative environment.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- A commitment to high standards of patient care and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Completion of a leadership course and Surgical First Assistant certification is desirable.
Compensation:
- Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum.
