Job Details

  • Join the Harrogate Integrated Community Team to support working-age adults with mental health needs.
  • Provide assistance with delivering evidence-based interventions such as graded exposure and anxiety management under supervision.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Care Certificate.
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy skills or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Trust’s full Healthcare Assistant (HCA) framework within the first six months of the role.
  • Previous experience as a Band 2/3 HCA or equivalent in a care environment.
  • Awareness of legal frameworks, including Mental Health legislation (within an agreed timescale).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (to be developed within agreed timescales).
  • Competency in record-keeping (to be achieved within agreed timescales).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to travel independently as per the Trust’s policies and service needs.

About the Role

This role involves supporting the Harrogate Integrated Community Team in their mission to provide care for working-age adults with mental health needs. The successful candidate will perform key tasks such as assisting with evidence-based mental health interventions (e.g., anxiety management), conducting physical health checks, supporting care planning, and ensuring all electronic records are accurate. This position requires working closely with qualified staff and adhering to best practices for patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake delegated activities within the scope of competence under supervision, with a focus on patient safety and care quality.
  • Provide interventions like graded exposure and anxiety management to support service users.

  • Assist with follow-up appointments and communicate physical health results to clinicians.
