Requirements:

  • Recognised and registered EITB, City & Guilds, modern apprenticeship, NVQ level 4 or approved equivalent training in Electrical/Engineering
  • NC/HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and experience within the required technical disciplines (e.g., small power, lighting, emergency lighting, standby power systems, BMS, nurse call systems etc.)
  • Knowledge of BS 7671: IET wiring regulations
  • Multi-skilled in electrical practices and systems
  • Experience with electrical power and lighting systems, data wiring systems, and refrigeration systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise competing demands
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work without supervision

About the Role:
Whittington Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join their Hospital Maintenance Staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake electrical testing and record results to ensure compliance with the latest edition of the wiring regulations BS7671
  • Carry out emergency repairs and isolations as required
  • Perform electrical installations in accordance with the latest edition of the wiring regulations
  • Conduct fault-finding on complex LV networks, critical systems, and equipment
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspection and testing
  • Carry out portable electrical equipment and fixed installation testing
  • Follow planned maintenance schedules under the instruction of estates management
  • Interpret technical information and formulate solutions to improve equipment performance
  • Work in accordance with HTM 06-02, the electrical safety code for low voltage systems
  • Respond immediately to on-site emergencies
  • Undertake continuing professional development, including mandatory and statutory updating
