Position Overview

Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Primary Electrical Engineer to support the Power Grids Grid Integration Business in Ireland. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for electrical design works that comply with Hitachi Energy and customer standards, procedures, and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Contribution: Act as a technical lead, approving design deliverables and reviewing project documents for conformity and quality assurance. Anticipate and solve unprecedented problems.
  • Sales Support: Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for engineering projects/programs, including bills of materials and estimated engineering hours.
  • Contract Management: Support Contract Managers with claims regarding changes in the scope of work and deliver quality solutions within budget and contract specifications.
  • Planning and Control: Create work plans and cost estimates, reviewing and approving scope, budget, and schedule for assignments.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management: Develop and execute strategies for managing risks and opportunities in their area of responsibility, resolving any outstanding issues.
  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate with customers to deliver solutions and seek feedback to drive improvements.
  • Supply Chain Management: Work with the Supply Chain function to communicate technical requirements and provide technical evaluations of supplier proposals.
  • Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing: Represent the function in standardization committees and collaborate internally and externally as a technical specialist.
  • Processes and Tools: Review and document quality standards, processes, tools, and techniques to ensure compliance with safety regulations and contractual requirements.
