Job Summary

NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a statutory NHS organisation responsible for developing healthcare plans, managing the NHS budget, and arranging the provision of integrated health services for the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. As an Assistant Data Analyst, you will directly contribute to improving health outcomes, addressing inequalities, and enhancing productivity. In this role, you will work with large datasets and tools like SQL and Power BI to provide insights that help optimise NHS services.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Analyse complex health and care datasets to generate actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Create dynamic dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI and SQL for performance tracking and operational analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and drive improvements in data quality.
  • Monitor trends, forecast healthcare needs, and support data-driven strategy development.
  • Present complex information in an easy-to-understand format to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in data analytics or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information to varied audiences.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and work effectively under pressure.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with informatics, data governance standards, and the NHS Data Access Request Service (DARS) process.
  • Knowledge of NHS information governance and data security standards.
  • Experience using DAX and advanced tools like Tableau.
