Requirements

  • Care Certificate or willingness to work towards it.
  • NNEB or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a child-related, family-related, or health-related subject.
  • Experience in hospital or physical care of children.
  • Flexibility to work day and night shifts.
  • Compassionate and caring nature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role

As a Part-time Care Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of the team, providing holistic care to children and young people at the hospice or in their own homes. You’ll be working closely with nurses, helping with everything from personal care to planning fun activities. It’s a role that requires dedication and empathy, but the rewards are immeasurable. You’ll be making every day count for the children in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting nurses in assessing children’s care needs.
  • Providing day-to-day care according to individual care plans.
  • Helping with medication administration.
  • Organizing and facilitating outings, play, and activities appropriate for each child’s age and development.
