Job Overview
Heather Ward at the Airedale Centre for Mental Health is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individuals to join its team as Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs). This female acute psychiatric ward caters to patients aged 18–65 experiencing acute mental health crises.

Main Duties
- Deliver patient-centered care and interventions in the Adult Mental Health Acute Care Service.
- Provide support to maintain patients’ personal hygiene, physical health, and psychological comfort while preserving dignity and privacy.
- Assist registered healthcare professionals in clinical care and follow instructions for agreed tasks within a delegation framework.
- Ensure a positive patient experience through respectful communication and adherence to Trust values.
- Promote safety and effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.

Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Essential: NVQ1 training or equivalent experience, with a willingness to complete mandatory Trust training.
- Desirable: NVQ2 or higher in care or related modules, with readiness to develop core skills (e.g., English and Maths).
Experience:
- Essential: Experience in a caring environment (professionally or personally), especially in mental health.
- Desirable: Evidence of voluntary work or customer service experience.
Skills:
- Effective communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to treat individuals with dignity and respect in all interactions.
