An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Paediatric Unit at The James Cook University Hospital with the Clinical Support Worker jobs (Higher Level), to support the nursing team in providing direct patient care to children and young people. This role within CYPED involves supporting the nursing team in the emergency department, which cares for children aged 0-18 years attending with medical and trauma-related emergencies. There is also a co-located paediatric admission unit, where children are referred by GPs to be seen by the paediatric team. The successful candidate will be expected to work in both areas.
Key Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 (GCSE A-C/4-9)
- Care certificate
- Level 3 vocational qualification or completion of short courses and competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties
- Equivalent knowledge and experience in clinical care duties at Level 3
- Theoretical knowledge of clinical care
- Experience of a range of care and related procedures, including clinical observations
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
