Job Overview
A full-time staff member is required to join and support the Rapid Access Neurovascular Clinic for a 12-month maternity cover. These health care support worker jobs offer an exciting opportunity to expand clinical skills, covering clinics on a 7-day basis across Poole and Bournemouth Hospitals. The primary base will be Poole Hospital, with some shifts potentially at Bournemouth. The clinic is scheduled to transition to Bournemouth full-time in the near future.

This position is advertised as Band 3; however, applicants without the required care certificate competencies will initially be employed at Band 2. Applicants with care certificate accreditation will commence at Band 3.

Base Location: Poole

Main Duties of the Job
The role involves delivering a new referral process and contributing to its success. Clinics are varied and can be busy, requiring self-motivation, reliability, good time management, and initiative to ensure smooth service operation. Duties include collaborating closely with consultants and senior nurses, collecting data, and using computers. Clinical tasks such as performing ECGs and taking blood will also be undertaken. Full training will be provided.

Working for the Organisation
The organisation’s values shape how patients, visitors, and team members are treated. Significant investment in services is underway following the merger and the New Hospital Programme, with some services potentially moving locations in the short or long term. Specific details about this role’s relocation to the Bournemouth site in 2025 will be clarified during the interview. Excess mileage reimbursement will not apply upon relocation, and travel between home and the work base will be considered a commute.
