Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
  • MRCPsych certification
  • Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician status

Additional Requirements:

  • Comprehensive risk assessment and psychiatric care skills
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Expertise in managing older adults with dementia and functional mental health disorders

Salary Details

The annual salary ranges from £105,504 to £131,964, structured according to the NHS Consultant Band.

About the Role

This part-time role as an Elderly Care Mental Health Consultant involves leading care for older adults with complex functional illnesses and memory-related challenges. The post holder will provide clinical leadership to multidisciplinary teams, develop integrated care pathways, and support community-based services.

Responsibilities include offering consultations to home treatment teams, ensuring high standards of care, and promoting social inclusion and diversity. The consultant will also provide statutory clinical reports and contribute to seamless, patient-centered services.
