Job Role: Theatre Porter

An opportunity is available for a Band 2 Theatre Porter at Eastbourne District General Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient movement through theatres, including transporting patients from surgical wards to theatre and recovery areas.
  • Transport equipment, specimens, and blood products across the hospital as required.
  • Support waste management processes within theatres.

This role requires availability for weekend and bank holiday shifts as part of a full-time service commitment. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential due to the multidisciplinary nature of the role.

  • Good general education, including Mathematics and English.

Experience

  • Essential: Experience handling patients and equipment.
  • Desirable: Experience in customer service or similar people-facing roles.
