Job Overview
Qualified Nurses with recent experience in a comparable role are sought to join the CYP Public Health Service 0–19, which contributes significantly to improving outcomes for children, young people, and families through evidence-based early intervention strategies.

The Public Health Staff Nurse 0–19 will deliver the Healthy Child Programme in partnership with children, young people, families, Local Authorities, Early Intervention Services, Early Years Providers, Schools, and other educational establishments. Responsibilities include addressing identified needs such as safeguarding and providing support.

Two enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Staff Nurses 0–19 are required for the West Dorset Team, focusing on the 5–19 years caseload. These fixed-term, year-round posts are for 22.5 hours per week, with core working hours of 08:30–16:30 and no weekend work. The initial base is at Bridport Medical Centre, covering Bridport, Beaminster, and Lyme Regis.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide high-quality, person-centered care while ensuring safety, privacy, and dignity.
  • Conduct patient/service user assessments and develop care plans as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Offer advice to patients/service users and carers regarding care.
  • Plan, implement, and review health improvement programmes across various settings.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide clinical support to students and junior team members.
