Benefits
The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship provides:
- A stipend of €10,000 for one year of full-time study at the master’s or PhD level.
- A full fee waiver from the host higher education institution for the scholarship duration.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Domiciliary of origin must be outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
- Admission must be sought for a relevant master’s, postgraduate diploma, or PhD program offered by an eligible higher education institution, following that institution’s admission procedures.
- A conditional or final offer of admission from the higher education institution must be secured and submitted at the time of scholarship application.
- Previous recipients of a Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship are not eligible.
- Due to ongoing geopolitical concerns, nationals of Russia and Belarus are ineligible.
Selection Process
Applicants will be assessed based on:
- Outstanding academic achievement.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Active participation in extracurricular activities such as humanitarian work, politics, arts, or sports.
- A strong rationale for choosing to study in Ireland, demonstrating alignment with long-term goals and how the scholarship would support these objectives.

Applications close on March 5, 2025.
Application Procedure
Applications must be submitted via the online portal. Interested individuals are advised to:
- Carefully review the call documentation to confirm eligibility.
- Upload two references as part of the online application process.
- Submit applications well ahead of the deadline to avoid potential technical difficulties due to high server traffic.
