The Role
The University of Strathclyde invites applications for a Cyber and Information Security Compliance Officer within the Information Services Division. This key position will significantly contribute to enhancing the University’s cybersecurity framework, driving compliance with industry standards, and advancing critical information security initiatives.

Your Impact
In this strategic role, you will help navigate the University through the complex and ever-evolving cyber threat landscape by:
- Developing and implementing robust cybersecurity policies.
- Managing the University’s Cyber Awareness Programme to enhance organizational readiness.
- Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional objectives.
Key Responsibilities
You should have knowledge and experience in most of the following areas:
- Policy Development and Consultation: Assist in creating, reviewing, and refining information security policies aligned with best practices and University needs.
- ISMS Management: Support ISMS compliance with frameworks like ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, ScotGov Cyber Resilience Framework, PCI-DSS, and GDPR.
- Compliance and Training: Act as the liaison for cybersecurity compliance and training initiatives across the University.
- Risk Management: Facilitate risk assessments and guide departments in developing effective mitigation strategies.
- Cyber Awareness Programme: Oversee training material development, promote engagement, and monitor programme effectiveness.
