Requirements

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in full-stack development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
  • Proficiency with Azure Services (e.g., Azure Functions, App Services).
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and GraphQL.
  • Expertise in unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing (e.g., Jest, Cypress).
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, semantic HTML, and ARIA.
  • Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind.
  • Commitment to engineering best practices and robust code quality.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and collaboration across digital teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Storybook, monorepo tools (e.g., Nx), or CMS integration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
  • Additional programming knowledge in C# or Python.

Salary Details

  • Fixed salary of £80,000 per annum, with additional benefits contributing to overall compensation.

About the Role

As a Lead Software Developer at MaPS, you will lead a cross-functional team to develop innovative, scalable, and efficient digital products. Leveraging Next.js, React, and Azure Services, you will play a critical role in transforming user experiences while upholding GDS (Government Digital Services) standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop modern, responsive, and accessible digital platforms.
  • Advocate for and implement engineering best practices.
  • Mentor team members, facilitating knowledge-sharing and skill development.
  • Ensure robust code through comprehensive testing and documentation.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and product owners for optimal solutions.
  • Lead discussions on solution design and technical innovations.
