About the Role
The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is seeking a skilled and driven Data Scientist/Engineer to join our Digital and Technology Group. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the transformation of the MHRA into a progressive and responsive regulator of medical products, supporting the UK Life Sciences Vision.
In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise to enhance the agency’s data and analytics capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-agency stakeholders to integrate new data sources, ensure consistent data management, and develop impactful data visualizations. Your work will drive the delivery of insights that improve outcomes for patients and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Dashboard and Report Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI and other agency tools.
- Data Integration and Management: Connect and manage data sources (e.g., Azure Synapse, SQL, Excel, SharePoint) while performing data integrity checks and ensuring data quality.
- Troubleshooting and Platform Maintenance: Resolve Azure Data Platform issues and maintain data pipelines to ensure smooth operations.
- Data Modeling: Develop robust data models and collaborate with architects to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
- Strong SQL querying skills across databases, including MS SQL Server.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated experience in addressing complex data challenges and ensuring data integrity.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
